Pepper seedlings are generally raised in mid-late February, with about 90-100 days in the south and 60 days in the north. Due to the different climatic conditions in different parts of China, the specific sowing time will vary from February to April in North China and Northeast China, and from October to November in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. the sowing time in South China is from December to January of next year.

First, the time of raising pepper seedlings

Generally, pepper seedlings are raised in the middle and late February. The sowing time is from February to April in North China and Northeast China, from October to November in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and from December to January in South China. The seedling raising time is about 90-100 days in the south and about 60 days in the north.

Second, choose the seedbed

The main results are as follows: 1. The pepper seedling bed should be planted in the soil with sufficient sunshine, deep soil layer, loose soil, convenient drainage and irrigation and leeward, but not in the soil where the previous crop is planted in hot pepper, potato and other crops.

2. Too wide or too long seedling ditch will affect the normal growth of seedlings, so the planting area can be controlled according to the specific planting quantity. In order to ensure the nutrition needed for plant growth, nutritious soil can be prepared. Farm manure, carbendazim and field soil can be mixed, which is more conducive to seedling growth and can prevent diseases and insect pests at seedling stage.

Third, soaking seeds to accelerate germination

1. Pepper generally uses the method of sowing and raising seedlings. Soak the seeds in clean water for about 8 hours before sowing, then remove and drain the seeds, wrap them in a plastic bag with wet cloth, and place them in an environment with a room temperature of about 30 ℃ to accelerate germination.

2. In the process of accelerating germination, turn the seeds properly every day so that they can be heated evenly. After about 5 days, about 75% of the seeds can be sown.

3. Note that the soaking time should not be too long when soaking the seeds, which can easily lead to nutrition loss and affect the germination rate. If the soaking time is too short, it will lead to insufficient water absorption of the seeds and reduce the germination rate.

Fourth, sow seeds at the right time

The main results are as follows: 1. Before sowing, pour the seedling bed with water, and after the water permeates the soil, you can begin to sow. Generally, pepper is sown mainly by sowing.

2. First of all, the seeds are uniformly sowed on the seedling bed, which is beneficial to promote the seedling. After sowing well, in order to prevent diseases in the pepper seedling stage, the soil can be mixed with fungicides, sprinkled on the seeds, and then covered with nutrient soil about 1cm. In order to improve the heat preservation and moisture retention ability of the seedling bed, it can also be covered with a plastic film, which is helpful to improve the seed germination rate.

V. late-stage management

1. After sowing, it should be controlled at about 22 ℃ during the day and 10 ℃ at night. If the emergence rate reaches 65%, the plastic film can be removed. If the temperature is too high, in order to prevent the occurrence of burning seedlings, it is necessary to strengthen ventilation so as to reduce the temperature.

2. In the process of growth, if the soil is relatively dry, it should be watered in time, and it should not be excessive. When the seedlings grow 2 true leaves, in order to improve the growth space of the seedlings, the seedlings should be thinned properly and the healthy seedlings can be retained.

3. In order to make the seedlings adapt to the external environment, seedling refining can be carried out about 15 days before planting, so as to improve the survival rate.
