Select high quality bulbs: bulbs with more than 3 stored roots with more than 1.5cm of straight bulbs should be selected. Soil: Sandy soil with good ventilation and drainage should be selected. Reasonable close planting: generally planted in late February to early April, the first soil preparation for bed, each planting about 2 rows, plant spacing of about 7-12cm. Water and fertilizer: base fertilizer should be fully applied, compound fertilizer should be applied every half a month after germination, drainage should be paid attention to in the rainy season, and proper watering should be required if the soil is dry.

First, choose high-quality seed balls

1. At present, there are many varieties of cut flowers of ginger lotus, such as Qingmai Red, Qingmai Bai, Qingmai Powder, Blue Moon and so on. In addition, there are some potted varieties whose plants are taller or shorter, and pink Qingmai powder is usually chosen as the cut flower variety.

2. High quality bulbs should be selected before planting. The bigger the bulb is and the earlier it blossoms, the higher the yield of cut flowers and bulbs. Therefore, it is better to choose bulbs with more than 3 stored roots and bulbs with diameter above 1.5cm.

Second, choose soil.

Ginger lotus has strong environmental adaptability and exuberant growth, and its roots are relatively developed, so it is suitable to be planted in sandy soil with good drainage, strong water retention, good air permeability and deep soil layer, but not in clayey soil.

Third, reasonable close planting

1. First of all, the dormant bulbs are germinated and placed at a room temperature of about 25-30 ℃, which can be planted in about 3 weeks.

2. Ginger lotus is generally planted from late February to early April, and the furrow width is about 20-30cm and the border width is about 70-80cm. Each border can plant about 2 rows, the plant spacing is about 7-12cm, and the number of bulbs per mu is about 1-17000.

3. After planting, cover the border with a layer of straw to moisturize to prevent Rain Water from scouring. Finally, in order to prevent weeds from sprouting prematurely, butachlor can be sprayed properly in the border ditch.

IV. Rational water and fertilizer

1. Sufficient base fertilizer should be applied before planting. After sprouting, compound fertilizer can be applied about 25 kg per mu every 10-15 days, and the amount and times of application can be increased or decreased appropriately according to leaf color and flower color.

2, ginger lotus growth boom just in the rainy season, generally do not need watering, in order to prevent stagnant water, must be timely drainage, wait until the soil is dry, can be properly watered.

5. Proper shading

1. For ginger lotus planted in the open air, the length of the cut flower is about 40-60cm, so in order to reduce the green patches at the end of the bud, the shading area needs to reach more than 70cm, and a shading net with a shading rate of about 30% can be purchased for shading.

2. In order to prevent the overgrowth of plants, the shading net should be removed in time during the peak period of plant growth, otherwise it is easy to affect the quality of flowers.

VI. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests

The main diseases and insect pests of ginger lotus are nocturnal moth, mole cricket, red spot, anthracnose and so on. if diseases occur, they can be controlled by spraying methamidophos, carbendazim, thiophanate, diesen zinc and other insecticides, which can be sprayed every 15 days. in addition, try to avoid rotation with zingiberaceae crops.
