Planting time: sowing and raising seedlings from late August to September and planting from September to October. Planting options: planting in paddy or dry land with convenient irrigation conditions. Field management: after paddy field planting, it needs to be put into shallow water in time, while dry land needs to be watered immediately after planting, and appropriate amount of quick-acting fertilizer and organic fertilizer can be applied during the growth period. Harvest remaining seeds: harvest when growing up to the height of 30cm. After harvest, you can choose seeds or plants to keep seeds.

First, planting time

1. Watercress is generally planted in autumn and then harvested in winter. When the temperature drops to 25 ℃ from late August to September, watercress is planted or sowed, and then planted in September-October, and can be harvested about a month after planting.

2. After 2-3 times of harvest and replanting in the Yangtze River basin, when the temperature drops to 5 ℃, it needs to be moved into large and medium sheds or pseudo-planting in the protected area to overwinter. in March of the second year, it will be replanted in the open field to be harvested from April to May.

Second, planting choice

1. Generally, you can choose to plant in paddy or dry land with convenient irrigation conditions, and the soil fertility of the planting land should be sufficient, and the soil fertility and water retention should be strong, so the soil quality is clayey soil or sandy land should not be planted.

2. There should be proper shade around the planting land of watercress, which can reduce the labor and cost of building shade shed, the paddy field should be ploughed, and the dry land should be ploughed deeply, and the bottom fertilizer should be applied. After making the border, you can wait for sowing.

III. Field management

1. Watercress has a very high demand for water and fertilizer, so there are some differences in the management of planting in paddy field and dry land.

2. If it is planted in the paddy field, then after planting, it is necessary to put shallow water in the field in time, the general depth is about 2cm, and then with the growth of watercress, and then gradually increase the water level, generally the water level in the field can not exceed 5cm.

3. If it is planted in dry land, it needs to be watered after planting, and then watered every 3-4 days, which is beneficial to maintain soil moisture. During this period, reasonable fertilization is needed, generally mainly quick-acting fertilizer, and then foliar fertilizer is sprayed. And apply an appropriate amount of mature organic fertilizer.

IV. Harvesting and keeping species

1. When harvesting watercress, it is necessary to harvest watercress in batches. Generally, after planting, the first batch of watercress can be harvested when the watercress grows to about 30cm height. After harvest, one fertilization is needed, mainly urea.

2. There are generally two kinds of watercress, namely seed-setting reproduction and asexual reproduction. Seed-setting reproduction is to keep seeds, while asexual reproduction is to select plants. generally in May, the fruit of watercress will begin to mature, and you can leave seeds at this time.
