Fertilization: a sufficient amount of organic fertilizer can be applied before winter, and quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer combined with phosphate and potash fertilizer can be applied from June to July. Pruning: pruning once after blooming in autumn, then pruning for the second time before sprouting in early spring. Note: can be planted in fertile, moist, well-drained slightly acidic soil, and then cut strong plants for cuttings during the plum rain season.

I. the method of cultivating copper money tree

1. Watering

Before the new tree grows slightly, it needs a small amount of watering, usually less water in overcast and rainy days, more watering in summer and autumn dry weather, and less watering in the flowering stage. too much water will cause the flowers to fall off and shorten the flowering period.

2. Fertilization

The main results are as follows: (1) Codonopsis lanceolata likes organic fertilizer, and it can usually apply base fertilizer before winter, mainly organic fertilizer, quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer in spring, and mature soybean cake, pig, poultry and other fertilizers mixed with water, which is helpful to promote the vigorous growth of new shoots.

(2) from the end of June to the end of July, fertilizer mainly composed of available nitrogen fertilizer and combined application of phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer can promote the growth of summer shoots.

(3) at the same time, it is necessary to determine the type and quantity of fertilization according to the growth of copper tree. If the number of summer shoots is less than 10-15%, it means that the tree is relatively weak, and more nitrogen fertilizer needs to be applied, as well as the number and amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be increased. Fertilization needs to be based on the local growth environment, and then reasonable fertilization.

3. Pruning

The main results are as follows: (1) because the sprouting power of the copper tree is relatively strong, it usually draws shoots once or twice a year, in order to make it blossom and blossom, it needs to be pruned properly, and the better period of pruning is usually once after it blossoms in autumn.

(2) during the period, according to the growth potential of Codonopsis lanceolata, in addition to thinning the dense branches, it is also necessary to cut off the long branches in summer and autumn, and then prune them for the second time before sprouting in early spring, which can cut off the thin and weak branches and the branches of diseases and insect pests, which is beneficial to the ventilation and light of the plant. to promote the copper tree to be able to breed more full flower buds.

II. Matters needing attention in culturing copper tree

The main results are as follows: 1. Copper tree likes light, shade tolerance, warm climate, and slightly acidic soil with fertile, moist and good drainage, which is not strong in cold resistance, can adapt to the urban environment and has strong resistance to harmful gases.

2. With slow growth, strong sprouting ability and resistance to pruning, the mature seeds can be collected from September to October. The seeds will not germinate until 3 months after ripening, and then stored with sand stratification. Sowing in March-April of the second year, the emergence rate is relatively high.

3. In the rainy season, the cuttings were cut from the strong plants, the length of each branch was 12-20cm, the upper leaves were left 3-4 pieces, and each leaf was cut off 1 × 2, and then the cuttings were inserted into the pot.

4. Moisturizing and shading before emergence, both hardwood and tender wood can be cut, and cuttage propagation is usually carried out in the rainy season, so the survival rate is high.

5. Cuttings are cut from plants with many fruits and strong growth, with a length of 12-15cm and a depth of 8-10cm, shading and moisturizing after cutting. in order to promote the rooting and improve the propagation effect of cuttings, the cuttings can be treated before cutting. if there are conditions, the use of ABT2 rooting powder is beneficial to improve the rooting rate.

6. The method is that 1g rooting powder is dissolved in 500ml 95% alcohol, then 500mL distilled water is added to form 1000mL 1000mg/L solution, and then water is diluted to the desired 50mg/L concentration.

7. Usually before cutting, the base of the branch can be dipped for 2-4 hours, and then the treated cuttings are cut on the seedbed. The suitable row spacing is 10cmX10cm, and the depth is 8-10cm. After cutting, the soil is compacted, so that the matrix and cuttings are closely joined, and then sprayed with water.

8. It is used for the propagation of leaf species with colored markings, usually before sprouting in spring, during which Tongqian tree is used as rootstock, and the cutting method or bud grafting method is adopted, so the survival rate is high.

9. Copper tree can be transplanted with soil in spring and autumn. because copper tree has few whisker roots, attention should be paid to prevent loose balls and cut off some branches and leaves at the same time, which is helpful to reduce transpiration and improve survival rate.
