Basin soil: rotten leaf soil, garden soil and sandy soil can be selected. Light and temperature: the suitable temperature for growth is about 15-25 ℃. It should be maintained in a place without direct light in summer and moved indoors in winter. Watering: the amount of water should be strictly controlled in late autumn, winter and early spring, and more watering can be done in summer. Fertilization: phosphate fertilizer and potassium fertilizer can be applied during the growth period.

First, basin soil

Epiphyllum likes to grow in slightly acidic sandy soil rich in humus, well drained, loose and fertile. The potted soil is rotten leaf soil, garden soil and sandy soil, with a proportion of 4:4:2. After the soil is matched, it needs to be sterilized in the sun. When planting, put a layer of broken tiles or bricks at the bottom of the basin, which is beneficial to increase soil permeability and drainage.

Second, light and temperature

1. Epiphyllum likes semi-overcast and warm environment, and requires high temperature. Epiphyllum needs sunshine during the period, and the suitable temperature for growth is about 15-25 ℃.

2. When the summer temperature is too high, epiphyllum needs to be placed in a place where there is no direct light to shade, and if the winter temperature is low, epiphyllum needs to be moved indoors for overwintering, and then placed in a sunny place indoors, requiring sufficient light. The overwintering temperature is about 10-12 ℃ and can withstand a low temperature of about 5 ℃.

Third, watering

1. Epiphyllum likes moist soil, high air humidity and fear of waterlogging. when the temperature is low in late autumn, winter and early spring, epiphyllum will be in a semi-dormant state, so it is necessary to strictly control the amount of watering to make the basin soil in a dry state. pour a small amount of water after drying.

2. After the temperature rises in spring, epiphyllum slowly resume its growth, which can gradually increase the amount of water and keep the soil moist. In the vigorous growth season, besides watering, it is necessary to sprinkle water around the plant, which is beneficial to increase air humidity and strengthen ventilation.

3. Epiphyllum should be watered more in summer, but there should be no stagnant water or rain in the basin, otherwise it will lead to rotten roots, which can be sprayed 1-2 times in the morning and evening, which is helpful to increase the humidity of the air.

IV. Fertilization

1. A small amount of fertilizer can be added when preparing the soil and mixed evenly with the potted soil. The amount of fertilizer used is 1x20-1perc30 of the potted soil. After the new stem grows in spring, topdressing begins. During the growth of epiphyllum, if the leaves turn yellow, ferrous sulfate should be applied once, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate with 1000 times liquid should be applied once after the flower bud.

2. After the flower withered, it is necessary to apply phosphate and potassium fertilizer every 20 days or so, stop fertilization at the end of autumn, epiphyllum can apply rotten cake fertilizer every 15 days during the growing period, nitrogen fertilizer should be applied once a month in spring and autumn, proper management of water and fertilizer can prolong flowering time, but too much water and fertilizer will lead to overgrowth.

V. matters needing attention

1. It is necessary to do a good job in water and fertilizer management, strict water control, reasonable fertilization, lack of water and fertilizer will reduce the amount of flowering.

2, avoid strong light exposure, if necessary, need to shade, avoid stagnant water in the basin, summer can not be caught in the rain, easy to lead to rotting roots.

3. Plants of more than 3 years old need to be tied and fixed, otherwise lodging is easy to occur.
