Now many people like to raise green plants, because the effect of green plants to purify the air is particularly good, but although green plants are easy to raise, they will encounter a lot of problems. In fact, the most important thing to raise green plants is the soil. If the soil is selected well, the green plants will grow quickly. So what kind of soil is used to raise green plants?

What kind of soil is used to raise green plants?

Humus soil, saprophytic soil, peat soil, turf soil, coniferous soil, mountain mud, plain sandy soil, Guangdong pond mud, etc.

1. Humus soil: also known as stable fertilizer soil. It is made from the mixture of livestock dung, urine, bedding and feed residue by fermentation retting, which contains a variety of organic matter and nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and so on. Its composition is mainly composed of humus, loose texture, acidic, rich in nutrients, fertilizer retention, strong water retention, but poor drainage.

2. Rotten leaf soil: the topsoil of the forest zone in nature, formed by the accumulation and decay of fallen leaves for many years. Rotten leaf soil is loose, porous, acidic or slightly acidic, and is rich in nutrients, so it is suitable for planting all kinds of acid-loving soil flowers, and it is also one of the main materials for potted flower culture soil.

3. Peat soil: peat soil, also called peat soil, is collected from peat bogs. It is formed by the continuous accumulation of organic matter or under flooded conditions, some of which have been carbonized, black and brown in color, acidic, rich in organic matter, and some as high as 80%, 90%, which can improve the physical properties of the soil. Peat soil itself does not absorb much nutrients for plants, but it contains a lot of fiber and humic acid, and has a strong ability to absorb fertilizer and retain water, so it is a good material for preparing flower culture soil.

4. Turf soil: it is made by the accumulation and decay of weeds and straw mixed with livestock manure, which contains more humus and minerals, showing weak acidity.

5. Coniferous soil: it is formed by the accumulation of fallen leaves and bryophytes of coniferous trees of Pinaceae and Cypress. The coniferous soil formed by the deciduous leaves of spruce and fir is acidic (pH3.5-4. 0) and is rich in humus, which is suitable for flowers in acid-loving soil.

6. Mountain mud: commonly known as orchid soil, is a natural humus soil produced in the mountainous areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, made from fallen leaves that have been accumulated for many years. Its color is black and brown, loose, light, not only breathable, drainage, but also protect fertilizer and water, is a good potted soil. This kind of soil is acidic and suitable for the cultivation of acid-loving soil flowers.

7. Plain sandy soil: a kind of fine sandy soil with pure texture, good ventilation and water permeability, but no fertility, let alone aggregate structure, and poor water retention. It is often used as sowing or cutting soil for general flowers, and it is also one of the raw materials for preparing culture soil.

8. Guangdong pond mud: a fertile pond mud block in South China, which is a topsoil deposited at the bottom of the pond for many years, rich in organic matter, sufficient nutrients, slightly acidic and hard texture.

Can also be added to the soil:

Vermiculite: breathable and well ventilated, but easily powdered.

Perlite: breathable and not easy to accumulate garbage.

Charcoal: it can eliminate the toxic substances of potted plants and has good air permeability.

Carbon shell: it contains carbon, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, which is very beneficial to the growth of plants.
