Panax notoginseng, also known as Tianqi, Panax notoginseng, Panax notoginseng, is a more common Chinese herbal medicine, mainly produced in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. The main purpose of Panax notoginseng is to eat its dried rhizome, which can be beaten into powder and has the functions of reducing swelling, removing silt, relieving pain and so on. Because the plant shape of Panax notoginseng is relatively special, but also has a certain ornamental value, now many people put its potted plants at home. What is the method of growing Panax notoginseng in flowerpots?

1. Configure the right soil

Panax notoginseng is drought-resistant, moisture-resistant and adaptable, and the requirement for planting soil is not high, but it belongs to shallow-rooted plants, so it is better to choose a better soil for growth if planted in flowerpots. It is more appropriate to configure sandy soil with good porosity, strong air permeability and rich organic matter as the culture soil of potted Panax notoginseng.

2. Seed treatment

When planting Panax notoginseng in flowerpots, it is mostly planted with seeds. Choose three or four-year-old Panax notoginseng plants, wait until October to November, harvest full-grained, ripe fruit, rub off the peel, wash it in water and then dry it. Of course, you can also buy the seeds of Panax notoginseng directly to sow.

After preparing the seeds of Panax notoginseng, you should soak and disinfect them with professional medicine, but do not take too long, no more than ten minutes. Then dry the excess water and leave it there. In order to improve the germination rate of seeds, it is not recommended to store Panax notoginseng seeds for too long after drying, otherwise there will be no germination, it is best to harvest and sow seeds at any time.

3. Sowing method

Pour the seedling bed thoroughly, keep it moist, put an appropriate amount of mature farm manure into the soil, and sow the treated seeds on the moist seedbed. It is necessary to master a certain spacing between rows when sowing, so that there is not enough room for growth after Panax notoginseng grows seedlings. Covering a layer of straw after sowing plays a moisturizing role and can also reduce the growth of weeds.

4. Management at emergence stage

During the seedling breeding period of Panax notoginseng, attention should be paid to lighting, watering, topdressing, cleaning up weeds and so on. Wait until Panax notoginseng grows tender seedlings after watering according to the wettability of the soil, do not irrigate too much at one time, so as to avoid the phenomenon of stagnant water and rotten roots. In addition, the previous base fertilizer can no longer meet its growth needs, and additional topdressing is needed. Because Panax notoginseng is in its seedling stage, just take in the right amount of phosphate fertilizer.

5. Transplanting

After raising seedlings for a period of time, choose the right opportunity to transplant it into the flowerpot. Generally choose December to January for transplanting is more appropriate.

The selection of pots is also critical, try to choose good permeability, beautiful ceramic pots or tile pots. When planting in the pot, you should handle it gently so as not to hurt the roots. wait until Panax notoginseng takes the pot and manage it carefully.
