Potted flowers need to be moved indoors in early winter, and the location after entering the house should take into account the characteristics of all kinds of flowers. Therefore, we should pay attention to the following aspects:

(1) Flowers that bloom in winter and spring and have sexual preference for light, warm flowers such as crab claw orchid, cyclamen, camellias, poinsettia and autumn grass flowers, and Milan, jasmine, etc., should be placed on or near the windowsill where there is plenty of sunshine.

(2) evergreen flowers and trees that like sunlight but can tolerate low temperature or dormant flowers: such as sweet-scented osmanthus and citrus, can be placed in a cool place with scattered light.

(3) generally, flowers that are not strictly required for lighting, such as potted water lilies and roses, can be placed in a cool place without light.

(4) Indoor ventilation should be paid attention to: for the whole winter, windows should be opened for ventilation at noon in sunny weather, so as to reduce the occurrence of diseases and insect pests and be conducive to the healthy growth of flowers.

(5) fertilization and watering: after winter, the temperature continues to drop, the metabolism of flowers is slow, or enter a dormant state, in addition to continuing to water and fertilize according to actual needs, fertilizer and water should be strictly controlled in general potted flowers. If the pot soil is not too dry, do not water, especially shade-resistant flowers, but also to avoid excessive watering caused by rotten roots and leaves. When watering flowers in winter, be sure to go through the sun so that the water temperature is close to room temperature. The general watering time should be around noon. For some evergreen flowers that like shade and dampness, such as asparagus and camellias, the leaves should be sprayed with water close to room temperature to facilitate photosynthesis.
