1. Wipe the tip

Young trees do not need to wipe off the new shoots every time they grow 1~3cm; to keep the new shoots of the trees, they should first pick the heart of the new shoots at the top of the trees and let the lower shoots catch up with them, so that the new shoots of the fruit trees are neat.

2. Number of main branches

It is determined according to variety, growth potential and orchard characteristics. The natural round head type of main branches should be 3-4, and the distribution should be balanced, avoid repetition, and maintain a certain distance between the main branches, so as to improve the light conditions of the lower main branches and lateral branches.

3. Pick the heart

Before the new shoots of fruit trees are pulled and stopped, according to the requirements of the tree shape, the new shoots are coring and the required length is retained to speed up the ripening of the new shoots, which is beneficial to further shaping and drawing branches of the young trees.

4. Pull branches

Young trees reshape and pull branches, using ropes, bamboo slices, and technical bars of fruit trees to change the growth direction and growth trend of main branches and side branches. Branch drawing is a common and effective method for cultivating main branches, side branches and other trunk branches of orange.

5. Cultivate the crown structure.

Can be cut but not cut as far as possible, set aside as auxiliary branches. After the shoot, 3 or 4 main branches were fixed, and all the others were erased except a few as auxiliary branches.
