Red dragon fruit, also known as red dragon fruit, is a favorite fruit for many people. There are two kinds of flesh, white and red, full of small black seeds, mild texture and delicate taste. So, how to grow red dragon fruit seeds?

First, how to plant red dragon fruit seeds?

Select the fully ripe red dragon fruit, dig out the pulp and soak it in water, crush the pulp, then sift it with a filter cloth until the pulp is completely separated from the seed. Dry the seeds with toilet paper and dry them so that the seeds are completely dry and you can start sowing. Cover it with plastic wrap after sowing, open it every other day and spray water with a spray can. Wait for it to sprout and uncover the film.

2. Potted planting method of red dragon fruit

Cuttings are the easiest way to survive in red dragon fruit potted plants. as long as the seedlings grow roots and send out new branches, they can move the pot. So here is the method of potted red dragon fruit by cutting seedlings:

1. Select the flowerpot

Use a perforated mud basin or wooden box, as long as it is breathable, and then soak the basin with clean water for a few hours, so that the dirty gas on the basin wall is discharged, which is conducive to the growth of plant roots.

2. Soil

Production of red dragon fruit pot soil requirements are not strict, it is best to use neutral or slightly acidic soil, but it must be loose and breathable, alkaline soil is not conducive to cultivation. Or match it with yourself, mix it with rotten leaf soil, manure soil and coarse river sand at 6:1:1 and use it for half a month.

3. Pot planting method

Put the prepared soil into the flowerpot, the bottom of the flowerpot can be covered with a layer of sand and gravel, and then put the soil, the red dragon fruit seedlings obliquely inserted in the basin soil, the depth is about 3-4 cm, too deep, it will lead to slow rooting, too shallow, will cause the branches to lose water due to the loss of water in the topsoil, and finally gently press the soil around the plant with your hands to water thoroughly.

4. Cultivation and management

After the red dragon fruit was planted, compound fertilizer should be applied every other week to promote plant growth, and calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer and compound fertilizer should be applied according to plant size in the later stage. After planting, the red dragon fruit can germinate and grow rapidly after 15-20 days. When the plant height is about 1 meter, the stem tip of about 3cm length will be cut off at the top to promote the sending out of lateral branches at the top. When the side branch exceeds 80cm, the stem tip of about 3cm length will be cut off at the top. According to this method, if well managed, it will bloom after 7-8 months.

5. Florescence management

The demand for nutrition in the flowering period of red dragon fruit is also high. Half a month before flowering, organic liquid fertilizer containing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied once every 5-7 days. Red dragon fruit planted in the pot should not stay too long because of the small amount of soil in the pot and limited nutrition supply. It is recommended to leave only one fruit per branch.

Red dragon fruit seeds are relatively easy to sow, and cuttings are easy to survive, flowers can be used as vegetables and berries are edible.
