Tea culture is one of the traditional cultures of our country and one of the three major drinks of human beverages. Drinking tea often is beneficial to human health. There are many kinds of tea, each of which has its own unique taste, and the price is also very different. Let's take a look at when the tea garden is usually fertilized. How does it work?

When does the tea garden usually apply fertilizer?

The application of basic fertilizer should be early in the tea garden. Generally, when the aboveground part of the tea tree stops growing in autumn, it should be combined with winter ploughing and weeding. Because the base fertilizer used in the tea garden is mainly organic fertilizer (mature farm manure), and the nutrient release is relatively slow. In order to provide nutrients to the tea tree in time, the base fertilizer must be applied early to make it decompose and release nutrients in the soil early. In order to improve the utilization rate of fertilizer and increase the absorption and accumulation of nutrients by tea trees, it is beneficial to the cold resistance and winter of tea trees and the formation and germination of new shoots of spring tea in the following year. So as to improve the output and quality of tea.

Second, how to fertilize the tea garden?

1. Heavy application of base fertilizer

From October of each year to March of the following year, the tea tree enters the dormant period, but the root of the tea tree still absorbs and stores nutrients in the soil. During this period, re-application of base fertilizer can not only sprout spring tea in the coming year, but also improve the quality of spring tea.

Generally speaking, the content of base fertilizer should not be less than 50% of the amount of fertilizer applied in the whole year, and it should not be less than 150kg per mu if cake fertilizer is applied; if compost is applied, it should not be less than 1000kg per mu. It is best to apply fertilizer in early October every year.

The way of deep fertilization should be adopted when fertilizing, and the manure ditch should be dug deep about 25 cm. Fertilization in different areas can be selected according to the local geographical and climatic environment, which can be advanced or postponed appropriately.

2. Early application of budding fertilizer

If you want spring tea to start early and seize the market, we should not only pay attention to base fertilizer, but also apply budding fertilizer early. The time of fertilization is generally chosen from late February to early March every year, which needs to be selected according to the tea varieties and air temperature: the tea varieties with high temperature and early germination should be fertilized in advance, otherwise the fertilization time will be delayed.

3. Apply topdressing in summer and autumn

If the tea garden picks summer tea and autumn tea, it is necessary to apply summer and autumn topdressing to meet the nutrient needs of summer and autumn tea. Generally speaking, topdressing needs to be carried out immediately after picking spring tea and summer tea, summer fertilizer time is appropriate in late May, autumn tea fertilization needs to avoid "summer drought" weather, so as not to burn tea trees.

4. Skillfully applying foliar fertilizer

According to the growth status of tea trees, especially the foliar growth of tea, foliar fertilizer was skillfully applied. If it is found that tea trees are malnourished or lack of some nutrient elements, extra-root fertilizer is needed to remedy it.

All kinds of trace elements and scarce elements needed for foliar fertilizer need to be applied in the form of spraying. If spraying foliar fertilizer in pollution-free tea garden or organic tea garden, it needs to be registered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Village.

Ten days after spraying foliar fertilizer in the tea season, tea can be picked; if it is sprayed with organic foliar fertilizer, it will take 20 days to pick tea.
