There are three kinds of aphids that harm peach trees, namely, "peach aphid", "peach powder aphid" and "peach tumor aphid". Peach trees damaged by peach aphids will appear tender leaves curling, hypertrophy, uneven leaves, a large number of aphids sucking leaf juice, greatly reducing leaf function, and excreting mucus to pollute branches and leaves, inhibit shoot growth and cause deciduous leaves. Let's take a look at the morphological characteristics and control techniques of peach aphid.

1. Morphological characteristics of peach aphid.

Adults: winged fetal female aphids 1.8 to 2.1 mm long; head and chest black, abdomen green, yellowish green, brown, reddish brown, black spots on the back; long, large wings, slightly thin abdomen, tail conical; frontal tumor prominent, inclined inward. The length of the wingless female aphid is about 2.0 mm; the body is duck-pear-shaped, all green, orange, reddish brown, etc., with great color change and luster, and other parts are the same as winged aphids.

Eggs: orange at first, then black and shiny, long oval, 0.5-1.2 mm long.

Nymph: small, like wingless female aphids.

2. Occurrence regularity of peach aphid

In general, there are about 10 generations in a year, with eggs overwintering in bud cracks and skin cracks, and begin to hatch when peach trees sprout in spring. These kinds of peach aphids belong to migratory aphids, which fly to other hosts before and after wheat harvest and return to peach trees in autumn. The peak period of incubation is from sprouting to flowering of peach trees, and April to May is the peak time of damage in a year, which can suck the leaves dry, make them lose photosynthesis and die. Mating and breeding began from June to July, and the hatching was usually completed in 20 days. This is called winged fetal female aphids, usually referred to as parthenogenetic aphids, which can reproduce dozens to more than a hundred nymph aphids at a time. The number of sexual aphids decreased from August to September, and sexual aphids were produced from October to November, and overwintering eggs were produced after mating.

Specific to the incubation period of each kind of aphids is: peach aphids hatch during the germination period, peach tumor aphids hatch at flowering stage, and peach powder aphids hatch after flowering. It is recommended that 80% of the flowers should be used as soon as possible.

3. Control techniques of peach aphid

1. Combined with spring pruning, the seriously damaged branches are cut off and burned centrally.

2. Protect and utilize the natural enemies such as ladybugs, lacewings, aphid flies and aphid cocoon wasps, and use special insecticides for aphids as far as possible.

3. rational allocation of tree species, it is not suitable to plant tobacco, cabbage and other crops between rows of peach trees or near orchards, so as to reduce the summer breeding places of aphids.

2. Make use of the aphid's tendency to yellow, hang the yellow trapping board in the peach orchard to trap and kill. The density is generally 30 pieces per 667m ², the specification is 25cm × 30cm, and the hanging height is in the middle of the crown.

3. In spring, peach blossoms are not blooming, aphid eggs have all hatched, peach leaves are sprayed before curling, and spray again for 1 or 2 times according to insect conditions from anthesis to early summer. When the number of insects that move back to peach trees after autumn is large, they can be sprayed again. Eliminate winged aphids before mass occurrence or migration and spread.

4. The critical period is that when 80% of the flowers fall, the young peach has not yet come out of the shell, and some "missing fish" that have been prevented and treated for the first time can be found sporadically, and the drug can get twice the result with half the effort at this time. Imidacloprid or imidacloprid + kung fu spray can be used.
