Hibiscus jade is native to the Argentine Andes. Its spherical dignified, beautiful flowers, few diseases and insect pests, very suitable for general family cultivation, display in the balcony, windowsill or courtyard and other places. But florists also sell multi-flower jade. What is the difference between flower jade and multi-flower jade?

I. the difference between Xianhua jade and multi-flowered jade

Red flower jade and multi-flower jade are two different species in the same genus. The thorn is slightly short and soft, and the design color is mainly pink and red. The multi-flower jade thorn is slightly longer and slightly harder and stretches flat to both sides, and the design color is mainly white. In addition, Hibiscus Jade likes sunshine, but it can also bear half-shade for a short time. The demand for soil quality is not high, it is resistant to drought, and appropriate water is needed to supply buds during flowering. It is hardy in winter.

Second, the culture method of Xianhua jade

1. Soil: it takes about two years to change the soil. In spring, take the plant out of the pot, shake off the old soil, cut off the rotten old root, shorten the overlong root system, and promote the new root. Planting with new cultivated soil requires loose, fertile, well-drained sand loam with a certain particle size, which can be prepared with 2 parts of garden soil, 2 parts of rotten leaf soil or peat soil, 1 part of slag, 1 part of coarse sand or vermiculite.

2. Allocation of pots: the flowerpots cultivated by families need good air permeability, keep loose soil, do not often water, maintain soil permeability, and need to change pots every once in a while, which is beneficial to the root growth of Hibiscus jade. if it grows up and changes the soil, it can better increase the nutrients in the soil.

3. Illumination: Hibiscus jade has the habit of growing in warm season and dormant in cold season, so it is a "summer type" of succulent plants. Put it in a place with sufficient light during the growth period from April to October. If there is no light, the football will grow, and the buds will be difficult to open. Appropriate shading during high temperatures in summer to avoid strong sunlight burning the surface of the sphere. It can withstand 0 ℃ low temperature, put it in a sunny place indoors in winter, control the temperature below 10 ℃, strictly control watering, make the plant dormant, so that it can blossom more in the following year.

4. Watering: if the ribs of Hibiscus jade are soft, the plant must be in a dry state, that is, it needs watering. Watering at this time needs to be watered thoroughly, and the sphere will slowly harden in one or two days, which means that Xizhuayu is already in a state that it does not need watering.

5. Fertilization: about 20 days in the seedling stage, the mature dilute liquid fertilizer or "low nitrogen, high phosphorus and potassium" compound fertilizer was applied to promote growth; for adult flowering, only one or two fertilizers dominated by phosphorus and potassium were applied at flowering stage to promote flowering.

6. Pollination: after flowering, Hibiscus needs to be pollinated. It withered about a week after flowering, and the stem of the flower will fall. When the flower is in full bloom, scrape the seeds with a brush when the stamens are exposed. Cross-pollination is completed. If pollination results, the ovary will begin to swell and will be ready to be picked in about a month. Of course, you may not be able to harvest seeds after scraping with a brush, which has something to do with the survival and viability of pollen.

7. Florescence: the florescence of scarlet is usually from early May to mid-December. May is the blooming season of Hibiscus Jade, which is also called "flowering machine" by netizens, and many flower friends choose him because its flowering frequency is too high.
