Cuiyuncao and Selaginella are both perennial herbs of Selaginaceae, but they are different species. It is a medium-sized fern with a main stem spreading on the ground.

Cuiyun grass is a medium-sized verdant fern, the main stem trailing on the ground, the root receptacle growing only in the lower part of the main stem or intermittently along the main stem, less bifurcated, hairy, stem cylindrical, grooved, glabrous, lateral branches 5-8 pairs, 2 pinnately branched. Cuiyun grass is distributed in Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Hami Hatton, Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and other provinces and regions. It is born under valley forests at an altitude of 40-1000m, in humus soil or in wet weeds by streams, and in caves, on wet rocks or in crevices. Selaginella Selaginella is distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hunan, Shaanxi, Hebei, Shandong, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and other places, mostly on sunny hillside rocks, or in dry rock crevices, often found in limestone, elevation (60 -) 500-1500 (- 2100) meters.

Selaginella officinalis is used as a dry whole herb, which has the effect of promoting blood circulation and dredging menstruation, and is used for amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, ruffian block and fall injury.
