Balsam pear likes to be wet and afraid of rain and waterlogging, requiring 70-80% relative air temperature and soil relative humidity during the growth period.

Balsam pear is a short-day crop, light is not tolerant to shade. The day before sowing, put the nutrient soil into a 10 cm × 10 cm nutrition bowl (or seedling bed) and pour it thoroughly. The next day, spray the nutritious soil with water, sprinkle a thin layer of fine soil and sow the seeds.

The seeds are covered with a small mound about 1.5 cm thick. And then spread a layer of fine soil over and over again. The seeds are usually sown at the end of March and the beginning of April in Beijing, and the seedlings are 30-35 days old. It was planted in the open field after the final frost in early May.
