The difference between Cao Yulu and Yulu

Yulu is a succulent plant, its succulent leaves are as transparent as jade, crystal clear and round, and can be placed on the balcony or desk like a work of art, so it is very popular with succulent plant lovers. Today, I would like to introduce the difference between Cao Yulu and Yulu.

1. Different distribution

Grass jade dew is mainly distributed in the southern Cape Province of South Africa, easy to form a gregarious state, like the bright light growth environment, not resistant to moisture and strong light exposure.

Yulu originated in South Africa and is now cultivated in many parts of the world. Like the cool semi-overcast environment, the main growth period is in spring and autumn. It is resistant to drought, not cold, avoid high temperature, humidity and hot sun exposure, afraid of shade, but also afraid of soil stagnant water, the growth period should be given sufficient light.

Second, leaf difference

The plant type of Cao Yulu is lotus-shaped, the leaves are green and fresh, the fleshy leaves are thick and plump, the leaf shape is short spoon-shaped, and the front end is not pointed. The leaves indicate that they are covered with green textures.

The Yulu plant was solitary at first, and then gradually showed the shape of group. Fleshy leaves arranged into a rosette, green leaves, the top is transparent or translucent, called "window", the surface has dark vertical lines, the top has a small "beard" (commonly known as "top hair", but also some horticultural species Yulu does not have this feature).

Third, the flowering shape is different

When the grass jade dew blossoms, the raceme is drawn from the axils of the leaves, the flowers are relatively small and lovely, the color is light, and the petals grow in the shape of eversion.

Yulu is a loose raceme with white florets with green vertical stripes. There is a very big difference between the two.

In the genus Phragmites, many species are called "Yulu", most of which are varieties, horticultural species and hybrids, and their new varieties emerge one after another, such as "homonym", "synonym" and so on.
