How many years do potted oranges bear fruit?

Potted oranges usually bear fruit in 2-3 years, but different planting techniques and environments can also lead to different fruiting periods. In addition, traditional oranges mature in October-November in autumn, but now due to the development of inclusion technology, there are also oranges that mature in the middle of winter in December-January and in early spring.

Second, how to preserve potted oranges?

1. Soil

The basin soil suitable for orange tree growth is generally neutral (PH value is 4.5-7.5), rich in humus sandy loam or sandy soil. You can go to the flower shop or the flower and bird market to buy, or you can make your own deployment. Use 4 parts of ripe pastoral soil, 2 parts of river sand, 1 part of plant ash, mix well, grind and sift.

two。 Flowerpot

Choose a round basin with good water permeability and air permeability, lay 5 cm thick coarse sand at the bottom of the basin, and pad a layer of new tiles along the inner wall, and then fill the soil to plant trees.

3. Watering

Watering in the growing season is carried out before 10:00 or after 4 p.m. Water once a day on a sunny day in summer, if the soil is dry, make up water again on the same day, water once a day in spring and autumn, water every 2-5 days depending on soil moisture in early spring and late autumn, and control watering in winter. The water temperature of watering had better be consistent with the soil temperature, and the pH value is generally 6.5-7.

4. Fertilizer application

Potted orange trees should be fertilized diligently because of trees, days, and thin soil. Potted plants with strong fertilizer tolerance, large growth and more fruit should be fertilized more, otherwise less fertilizer should be applied, no fertilizer should be applied during the dormant period, more fertilizer should be applied to those with low fertilizer content or long-term potted soil, and less fertilizer should be applied to those with high fertilizer content.

5. Pruning and shaping

According to the planted orange tree varieties are pruned into natural round head shape, tower shape, single-branch cliff shape, two-branch deer horn shape, three-branch cup shape, weeping willow shape, dragon curve shape and so on. In addition, the main measures to promote flower dwarfing and shape pruning are wiping buds, coring, taking branches, curved branches, ring cutting, retraction, renewal, pulling branches and so on, and enhance the light by opening branch angle and thinning long branches, dense branches and ineffective branches to form an ideal tree shape.

6. Control of diseases and insect pests

We should pay attention to the invasion of diseases and insect pests such as foot rot, mites, scales and aphids, spray pesticides in advance to control them, and cut off the branches and leaves of the blight in time.

In addition, after the temperature is lower than 10 degrees in winter, the peach will move the potted oranges indoors in time to avoid low temperature freezing injury.
