Ugly tangerine, also known as Wuhuo mixed mandarin, has a good flavor and excellent quality. it is a very popular variety in recent years. We know that ordinary citrus seeds can be used for sowing, so how to plant ugly orange seeds?

First, how to grow ugly orange seeds?

Choose mature and full-bodied ugly orange fruit, after eating, leave the seeds to wash clean, then soak in clean water for a week or so, remove the peel of the seeds. Flowerpots should be prepared with holes, put on small stones, and fill with organic soil and base fertilizer. After planting the seeds in the flowerpot, gently compact the soil, spray water every day to keep the pot soil moist, about 3 weeks can germinate.

Second, the growth conditions of ugly orange.

1. Temperature

The annual average temperature suitable for citrus cultivation is 16-22 ℃, the absolute lowest temperature is ≥-9 ℃, the average temperature in January is ≥ 4 ℃, the annual accumulated temperature of ≥ 10 ℃ is more than 5000 ℃, and the annual sunshine hours are more than 1200 hours. The citrus began to grow when the temperature was above 12.8 ℃, the optimum growth was 23 ℃ at 29 ℃, and the growth was inhibited below 13 ℃ or above 37 ℃. The diurnal temperature for flower bud differentiation in autumn was about 20 ℃ and 10 ℃, respectively.

2. Lighting

Light is an indispensable photothermal energy for citrus trees to carry out photosynthesis and produce organic matter. Excessive or insufficient light will have adverse effects on citrus fruit trees. In closed orchards with insufficient light, the shoots are slender, weak and unsubstantial, the germination rate and branch growth rate are reduced, and even the shoots and leaves die, the leaves are thin and large, the color is light, the number of flowers is small, there are many abnormal flowers, the fruit setting rate is reduced, the fruit becomes smaller, the pericarp becomes smooth, the coloring is poor, the acid is high in sugar, the maturity is delayed, and some diseases and insect pests occur. And if you are too strong, sunburn will occur.

3. Moisture

The relative water content of the soil is 60%, 80%, 80%, and irrigation is needed if it is less than 60%. If there are too many Rain Water, it is easy to cause stagnant water in the soil or high water table and poor drainage in the citrus orchard, which will cause the root system to die. Citrus requires a relative humidity of about 75%.

4. Soil

Citrus has a wide adaptability to soil, such as red soil, yellow soil, purple soil, etc., but the most suitable soil for citrus growth is loam and sandy loam, in which the living soil layer is more than 60cm, the groundwater level should be less than 1m, and the soil PH value is between 6.06.5and 6.5m.

6. Altitude

Altitude has a great influence on temperature. In areas with frost damage, the increase in altitude means that frosts are more likely to occur and the acid content of fruits also increases. Because in a certain temperature range, the lower the annual average temperature, the higher the acid content of the fruit. The coloring of citrus fruit is also directly related to temperature, and moderate low temperature (3-10 ℃) can promote coloring. The temperature of more than 20 ℃ is not conducive to citrus fruit coloring.

In addition, citrus is sensitive to sulfur dioxide, fluoride and some organic chemical pollutants in the air, and the dust in the air also has adverse effects on the growth of citrus, even if it is soil dust. Dust covered the leaf and fruit surface, which reduced the efficiency of photosynthesis and poor fruit appearance quality. When the air is moist, the dust covered on the citrus trees will also induce the reproduction of algae, hinder the sunlight from shining on the leaves and further reduce the photosynthetic rate.
