How to grow black jujube seeds
Black jujube seeds are soaked in warm water, expanded and sown, then covered with thin soil and watered, and seedlings can be interspersed after emergence. Then the basic work such as topdressing, watering, pest control and weeding will be carried out, and the following spring will be able to transplant and do a good job in the later stage of management.
First, sowing seeds
After the fruit is ripe, pick the fruit on the dry and tree-shaped plant, spread the fruit in a cool and dry place to dry, then take out the seeds, wash and dry, and store them in a clean cloth bag. In late March of the following year, the seeds were soaked in 40 ℃ warm water for two days, and the seeds were expanded before sowing. The nursery bed should choose the place with sufficient sunshine and good drainage, cover 0.5 cm of soil after sowing, and immediately pour water with immersion irrigation method after stepping lightly with your feet. After the seedlings come out for 30 days, you can choose cloudy days for inter-seedlings, and then apply nitrogen fertilizer. During the seedling period, the basic work such as water and fertilizer management, pest control, weeding and loosening soil should be strengthened. Transplanting can be carried out in the spring of the second year, and the second transplanting can be carried out in the third year. The row spacing of the planted plants is 4 meters × 6 meters.
II. Water and fertilizer management
After the establishment of the garden, the soil outside the planting ditch was expanded to improve the soil outside the planting ditch before freezing every autumn. the ditch was expanded for 100 cm per year, and the surface mixed organic fertilizer was filled into the bottom of the ditch to create a good soil environment for root growth. 50 kg organic pigsty fertilizer and 2 kg nitric phosphorus compound fertilizer were applied every 100 cm ditches in combination with soil improvement in autumn. At the same time, each black jujube tree was treated with 20 kg pig manure. Before sprouting in spring, loosen the soil once after irrigation, then spray herbicide once to remove weeds in the garden, spray 2-3 times in the whole year, and turn the whole garden deeply after fruit harvest in autumn combined with organic fertilizer in autumn.
3. Pruning
1. Pruning of young trees: remove competitive branches, erect strong branches and dense squeezed branches, retract the fruiting thin and weak branches and drooping branches, and extend the central trunk and main branches.
2. Tree pruning in full fruit stage: black jujube trees cultivated with medium density enter the full fruit stage in the fifth year. The pruning tasks in this period are as follows: to remove the outer and upper overdense big branches and big branches, improve the inner chamber light, promote the inner chamber hidden buds to sprout new branches, remove the weak drooping branches, retract the long fruit branches, maintain the tree potential and stabilize the yield. The wound caused by pruning is closed in time with "callus anticorrosive film" to prevent dry crack and invasion of diseases and insect pests.
IV. Pest management
The common diseases and insect pests of black jujube are anthracnose, round spot, pseudocercospora and shell insects, diamondback moth, persimmon caterpillar and so on. According to the actual growth situation to do a good job of prevention and treatment, and timely prevention and treatment.
The cultivation of black jujube seed is relatively simple, it is widely planted as garden tree or street tree, and the fruit can be eaten after maturity.
