The difference between Lingcao and Lingxiao

I. the difference between Lingcao and Lingxiao

Lingcao, namely licorice, is a perennial herb of Leguminosae and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. It is used in medicine with roots and rhizomes. It is the most commonly used medicine in clinic. Raw licorice can clear heat and detoxification, moisturize the lungs and relieve cough, reconcile various medicinal properties; roasted licorice can tonify the spleen and replenish qi, and its clinical dosage is very large. Ling vanilla is mainly used as a spice to prevent moth and moth. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is mainly used to treat typhoid, remove fever, stop benefit, treat toothache, headache in children, stuffy nose and so on.

Licorice and Ling Vanilla are also very different in appearance. Licorice root and rhizome are thick, 1-3 cm in diameter, brown in skin, light yellow inside, sweet to eat, licorice stem erect, 30-120 cm high, leaves 5-20 cm long. On the other hand, the herb plant is 20-60 cm high and has a strong aroma after drying. The over-aged stem creeps and sends out most of the slender fibrous roots, and the stem in the current year is a uniaxial extension of the old stem.

Second, the growth habits of Lingcao and Lingvanilla.

Licorice in China is mainly distributed in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Gansu, Shuozhou, Shanxi and other places, mainly wild, but also artificially cultivated, mainly distributed in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu Hexi Corridor, the periphery of Longxi, some areas of Ningxia. It is distributed in Asia, Europe, Australia and America all over the world. Licorice grows mostly in arid and semi-arid sandy soil, desert edge and loess hilly areas. it likes to survive in the ecological environment with sufficient light, less rainfall, extremely hot summer, cold winter and large temperature difference between day and night.

Lingvanilla is mainly distributed in southeastern Yunnan, Guangxi, northern Guangdong and southwestern Hunan in China, but not in other countries except India. Lingvanilla likes to live in valley streams and humus soil under forests at an early altitude of 1700 meters above sea level, and grows well under broad-leaved forests with relative humidity of 6080%.
