When it comes to crabapple flowers, everyone must be familiar with it. It is not only of high ornamental value, but also easy to feed, so many people like to keep a pot at home, but because it is very similar to peach blossoms, many people mistakenly think it is the same kind, but it is not. What is the difference between crabapple blossoms and peach blossoms?

What is the difference between begonia blossoms and peach blossoms?

The difference between crabapple blossom and peach blossom is that the pedicel of begonia is long, the fruit is like an apple, connected to a handle, and the bud is a standard sphere with high ornamental value. Peach blossom is almost close to the stem, almost no handle, blooming is not regular, not as high ornamental value as begonia flowers.

Second, how to raise crabapple flowers?

1. Soil selection

The rhizome of crabapple flower is tender and fragile, so loose, fertile and well-drained soil must be selected as the substrate for culture. If the soil is too hard or sticky, it will affect its growth and hinder its root growth, and it can also deploy its own culture medium. Rotten leaf soil and river sand can be stirred according to the proportion of 7:3, and appropriate amount of cake fertilizer is added to mix the nutritious soil.

2. Watering method

Crabapple flowers have a certain ability to withstand drought, but they are afraid of stagnant water, so they must pay attention to moisture and keep the soil moist, but they should not be too wet so as not to cause stagnant water. The soil should not be too dry. If the soil is too dry, the absorption capacity of plant roots will be weakened, which can easily lead to leaf dehydration, yellowing or wilting, and in serious cases, it will cause plant death. It is usually watered once in 3-5 days in spring, 1-2 days in summer, 4-6 days in autumn, and 15-20 days in winter with low temperature, less water evaporation and low plant activity.

3. Fertilization method

In order for begonia flowers to grow rapidly and bloom more brightly, fertilization is essential. In addition to the fertilizer applied in the nutritious soil, topdressing should be applied once a year after flowering. Each time the edge of the plant is trenched with rotten organic fertilizer, covered with soil and watered, so that it is slowly absorbed and provided for growth. In autumn, the organic fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied once to promote its flower bud differentiation and meet the nutrient needs of its growth.

4. Light temperature

Crabapple flowers usually bloom in spring and only once a year, but if the light and temperature are managed properly, they can blossom again in autumn if they are cooled and shaded. When it is hot and rainy from June to July in summer, it can be moved to a cool shelter for cooling, sunshade and rain shelter facilities can also be built, and the amount of water can be reduced, so that the vegetative growth of the plant can be controlled. With the passage of time, slowly reduce the amount of water until the leaves wither and fall off, making it into the dormant period. After that, a small amount of watering is needed to maintain the plant, and after the dormancy period, it is placed under sufficient light, watered and fertilized to promote its flower bud germination and blossom again.
